The mountain of Asiderotas or Siderotas is located in the south part of Rethymnon prefecture and is essentially a branch of Kedros mount and continuation of Xiro Oros Mountain. It is separated from Kedros through the river Akoumianos, while its most important settlements are Akoumia and Ardaktos.
The longest beach on the island of Chrissi is Hadzivolakas, which extends west of the central beach of Belerinna. The beach has mainly rocky seabed and is ideal for isolation as most of the island's visitors are limited to Belegrina.
Below and east of the archaeological site of Ancient Rizinia and the church of Saint Panteleimon atop the hill Patela of Prinias, after rain a beautiful waterfall, about 10 meters high is formed. The place can be accessed through a fairly bad dirt road leading to the adjacent sheepfold. From where the parking area it is very easy to access the watefall base on foot.
On the hill above the village Lefkochori (Voutoufou) at Heraklion we meet the wood of Lefkochori. it covers an area of 72 acres and is a green oasis in the center of Heraklion prefecture. The artificial wood mainly consists of pines and cypress trees. The place can be reached through the road that starts from the village.
On the southeast side of Mount Sanida, near the village Skourvoula, a small but very wild gorge is formed called Rizopetro. The gorge ends near Faneromeni dam after a very impressive 60m high waterfall, having water only after heavy rainfalls.
The church of Agios Nikolaos is located on the northern side of the island Chrissi, at the site where Tyrian purple was produced and graves are located. It dates back to the 13th century, although it has undergone more recent interventions. The temple is built on the site of an ancient building.
The impressive Cave Kouroupidon is located in the area of the village Kokkino Chorio of province Apokoronas, near the beach of Koutalis; the area hosts dozens of great caves. Detecting the entrance is difficult because it is very narrow and is not discernible.
The highest of all the waterfalls around is that of Grias Pidima in the area of Rechtra which transfers the waters from the west side of Mount Vassiliko. The waterfall consists essentially of three smaller falls and has a total height exceeding 20 meters. It has water only after a period of intense rainfall.
