The church of Panagia Gorgoepikoos is located at the territory of the village Pigaidakia, near the beginning of the stream that ends on Karavovrissi beach in Kali Limenes. Today only the temple is preserved from the complex that till the beginning of the 20th century was a small monastery dedicated to the Assumption of Theotokos, which was a dependency of the monastery Apezanes.
The original temple was a small single-nave arched, with a cruciform narthex and dome added to it later. The exterior hosts an arcosolium, i.e. a latin grave from the Venetian occupation.
The walls of the temple preserve some of the initial high quality frescoes, dating from the first half of the 14th century. In the main church we can see scenes from the Christological and Mariological cycle, while in the narthex there are scenes from 24 scenes of the Hymn Akathistos (Immaculate Hymn) and in the dome there are scenes from the Second Coming.
