The beach of Foudana is located next to the coastal settlement of Maridaki at the area of Achendrias. It is formed in a steep area at the eastern base of Cape Kerkellos and has pebbles, quite a rocky bottom, and very clear waters.
The main feature of the beach is the imposing limestone mirror of Kerkellos which creates a windless bay with almost still waters. Next to Kerkellos, many tamarisk trees have been planted on terraces, while between them passes a short but steep path that leads to the beach.
The name fountana means spring in Greek. It is taken after the spring of brackish water located at the southernmost end of the beach. The beach's waters in many places are ice cold due to the spring fountana and other underwater springs.
Visitors can find shade under the cliffs, a tamarisk tree, and a small cave to the north.
