Pikrovlychada (or Petrovlychada) beach is located in one of the most inaccessible parts of the Asterousia Mountains, in the area of Cape Alykapounda and in the vicinity of the village of Ethia. It is formed at the exit of a small steep canyon with technical descents that starts at an altitude of about 900 meters south of the village Ethia.
A few meters west of Picrovlychada is Alykevra, a sheltered harbor where the local shepherds even today bring their flocks to the beach. Here is a spring of water where their sheep quench their thirst (and are easy to catch as they approach here, as there is no water nearby).
Although the beach can be accessed from the ancient path of Alykevra, due to the long distance and altitude difference from the nearest point of approach by car, hardly anyone comes by foot. Due to the narrowness of the place, boats stop a few meters away and access to the beach is possible only by swimming.
The dark limestone rocks enter into the sea, creating a wonderful narrow gorge in the water with a tiny beach. The bottom has pebbles and crystal blue waters. On the coastline on both sides of the beach there are large and small sea caves, so if you come here don't forget your snorkeling equipment.
