Gerokambos on the southern coast of Asterousia range is a major archaeological site and apparently had a direct connection with the sacred spa town of ancient Levena, today's Lendas. It's not a coincidence that its name derives from a corruption of the words "Ieros Kambos" (sacred plane). In addition to the Gerokambos vaulted tomb, a large Roman-era building was found at this site in 1981, which is believed to have been a mansion.
