The church of Panagia in the village Kassani, province Pediada, is a small, one-room and vaulted temple dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary (March 25). It has been built on the site of an older temple, parts of which are preserved on the north and east walls.
Inside, traces of frescoes of the Palaeologian School from the 14th century are preserved. We can distinguish scenes from the Dodekaorton (12 most important feasts in Orthodox church) and the Passion in the dome, various saints in a lower zone and an small Mariological cycle on the west wall (with the Dormition higher and the Nativity and the Presentation of Mary lower). Also, in the upper part of the side walls of the sanctuary, prophets with their parchments are depicted.
