The church of Saint Anthony is a single- vaulted temple with a simple semicircular arch. Around the church and in all directions you will see the abandoned monastic complex.
At the highest point of the deserted village Kato Astrakoi we still see the imposing temple of Saint George Vourvoulitis, which unfortunately is now dilapidated. The temple was built on the site of an early Christian Basilica. Next to the church, at the point where we see currently the pipes for the irrigation of the surrounding fields, there was the spring of "holy water of Saint George".
The cavernous church of Saint John Xenos or Hermit is located in position Kavousi, in the region of Platanos village and has amazing view of the fertile valley of Falassarna. The chapel hosts a tomb where, according to the local tradition, was buried Saint John the Hermit, but his bones were later moved to Corfu and the church of Ai-Kyr Yannis in Tsourouniana.
The wonderful location Hymeftou near the village Moni houses the scenic church dedicated to St. George and the Holy Cross. This was the site of the monastery of the Holy Cross which was a dependency of the monastery Kavallaras at Korfes.
At position Nembros located between fields of olive and orange trees and very close to village Voukolies, we meet the chapel of Saints Constantine and Helen. The temple dates back to 1452 and bears frescoes in fairly good condition.
One of the most important churches used in the past for burying unbaptized babies is located by Kritsa, at position Koulbado. This temple is also very important as it is a single-aisle temple, probably built in the Byzantine Era (indicated by the typical ceramic bricks met in Byzantine churches).
The church of Panagia Kryoneritissa is situated at an altitude of 1100m on Mount Kedros and belongs to the parish of village Vrysses. It takes its name (meaning Virgin Mary of Cold Water) after the nearby springs. It is a single-nave barrel-vaulted church dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi (Life Giving Spring) and bears interesting reliefs on the carved stone of the entrance.
The cemeterial temple of St Nikolaos and St Charalambos at MIliarisi is very special because it is dikonchos (double-niche), a type that is rare. The type of dikonchos church differs from the two-aisled as there is a common roof for both aisles, without interference of wall between the aisles.
