A place of foremost interest by Gavalochori is the complex of 24 Venetian Wells. It is located about 1 km outside the village, just before the village cemetery. These wells played an important role in the society Gavalochori, both during the Venetian period and later.
Although each house had its own cistern for covering its watering needs, the villagers walked up to the 24 wells to water their animals and meet each other. In the 1960s, some of the wells were closed so as to water the village.
In the area there are two planes with the characteristic twinning of clones. A feature found in few areas like the tree in Krassi and in the Monastery of Kaloeidena, by Ano Meros. A wooden sign posted on a tree reads (in Greek): «At the wells’ plane tree in Gavalochori, there is the phenomenon of embraced clones».
Next to the wells there is a creek with an old Venetian bridge.
