The Gorge of Ambelos or Goniano is located southeast of Gonies village at Pediada province, just about 1 km from the southern limits of the village, separating the massif of Kera from the massif of Louloudaki. The approach is easy through the rural road, which runs through the gorge, along the bed of the gorge, which is a core tributary of Aposelemis river. Near its middle, it merges with the imposing gorge of Roza.
The gorge does not have the typical narrowing of its banks, because there is some distance between them. It’s charasteristic are the mountains which form the western slopes, where there are impressive geological formations that give the landscape a unique natural beauty. The vegetation in the riverbed of the gorge is quite rich in trees (especially platans) and shrubs (oleander, mats etc.)
