The church of Saint George (Agios Georgios) in Avdou, province Pediada, is the current cemetery church of the village. The church dates back to the 14th-15th century and has frescoes by the brothers Emmanuel and Ioannis Fokas. In the sanctuary, in the niche, the representation of the Co-officiating Hierarchs can be seen, in a higher zone the Communion of the Apostles and in the quarter sphere the Trimorpho (the three figures of the Jesus Christ, Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist), while eastern wall bears the representation of the Annunciation. In the arch of the sanctuary we see scenes of the Evangelical cycle and at a lower zone we see scenes from the Hagiological circle and specifically scenes of the Martyrdom of Saint George.
The side walls of the temple are adorned by two blind pointed arches (on the south and north wall), within which the walls are decorated with representations such the one with Anna and Joachim holding the Virgin Mary as infant.
