One of the places of martyrdom is Pervolia of Nine Villages in province Kissamos, from where came the chieftain of Kissamos Anagnostis Skalidis, who was rightly named Karaiskakis of Crete (Karaiskakis is one of the most famous heroes of Greece that fought against the Turks). Skalidis and his mate, Kriaris, fought against the Turks for 65 years in the mountains of Crete.
The house of Skalidis has been converted into a museum by the grandchildren of Skalidis and you will be guided in the rich historical collection of the museum.
The Museum, a family museum, houses photos of Greek and Cretan heroes, photos of Skalidis family, important documents, books, calendars writing about hard and unequal battles, and family heirlooms. The weapons of Anagnostis Skalidis were donated to the Historical Museum of Chania. In the house, you will see the fireplace where Skalidis and his partners planned the battles against the Ottomans.
