The beach of Achimada is located approximately 8 km east of Sitia on the road to Vai and just before the beach of Analoukas in the area of Roussa Ekklissia. While it is very close to the main road leading to Palekastro, one must know its existence to locate it.

It is formed in a semi-circular bay with cliffs and orange rocks that are composed of many places of deposits of fossilized bivalves (shells) and take imposing forms. While it seemingly looks impossible to access from land, one can descend from the sides.

Achimada has sand, pebbles, and rocks in places. Unfortunately, it is often affected by north coast winds. Nevertheless, when the weather allows it, it is a very nice option for swimming.
