At the base of Trahili Cape, in the southeastern part of the magic island Koufonissi, we meet the sandy bay of Chiliaderfia, colored by the characteristic whitish color of the rocks of the area, which in ancient times gave the island its name Lefki (i.e. white). The beach has at its west side a spring of fresh water and ends in a steep cliff, 100m high.
Several years ago in Chiliaderfia and the neighboring beaches of Halasma anchored for a week the yacht of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, while the British Navy had blocked access to incomers, thus the princely pair remained in complete isolation in their paradise.
The name Hiliaderfia in the Cretan dialect means the cliffs were Bonelli's eagles nest
