The Historical and Folklore museum of Kritsotopoula's house is located in the village of Kritsa, at Mirabelo, in the original house of Rodanthi (Kritsotopoula), reviving her amazing story. The folklore exhibition includes objects from the everyday life.
Ο ναός της προστάτιδας του Ρεθύμνου, Αγίας Βαρβάρας, βρίσκεται κοντά στη Μεγάλη Παναγία και εορτάζει στις 4 Δεκεμβρίου. Ο ναός ιδρύθηκε το 1885 στη θέση παλαιότερου ναού, πιθανότατα αφιερωμένου στην ίδια αγία, που εμφανίζεται σε χάρτες του 1613.
Between Karkadiotissa and the monastery of Saint George Epanosifis, on the main road, we meet the old monastery of Saint Anthony (Agios Antonios), which now does not operate. The monastery that 0operated during the Venetian Era is a dependency of the monastery Epanosifis and is built at the point where small waterfalls are formed in winter.
Το φρούριο Καστέλλι Πεδιάδας δεν ήταν χτισμένο πάνω σε κάποιο ύψωμα, αλλά στην κορυφή ενός μικρού λόφου μέσα στην πεδιάδα. Είχε κυρίως διοικητική σημασία, αφού ήταν έδρα διοικητικών και στρατιωτικών αρχών.
Ο Ναός του Αγίου Νικολάου του Μαζιώτη βρίσκεται στο χωριό Μάζα Αποκορώνου. Ειναι μικρός μονόχωρος καμαροσκέπαστος ναός που χρονολογείται στον 13ο αιώνα. Το εσωτερικό του φέρει εντυπωσιακές τοιχογραφίες του διάσημου αγιογράφου της δυτικής Κρήτης Ιωάννη Παγωμένου, ο οποίος είναι θαμμένος στο πάτωμα του ναού.
Δίπλα στην εκκλησία της Παναγίας στο Ανισαράκι Κανδάνου βρίσκεται ο μονόχωρος καμαροσκέπαστος ναός της Αγίας Παρασκευής. Ο ναός φέρει τοιχογραφίες σε κακή κατάσταση από το πρώτο μισό του 14ου αιώνα.
The small plateau of Monokara is located on Mount Ornos, at an altitude of about 750m. Access is possible from the villages Tourloti and Sfaka. On the plateau there is the picturesque temple of the Holy Cross and many cottages for stayingovernight in summer months, when locals keep crops of vines, apples, pears and walnut trees.
Near Karkadiotissa, at the deserted today settlement Agalantes and amid an area with huge oak trees, operated the Venetian monastery of Astratigos (Michael Archangel). The monastery is a dependency of the monastery Saint George Epanosifis. Despite the long siege of Candia by the Ottomans, this monument has not suffered the devastation experienced by most monasteries around Temenos province and the 15th-century frescoes have survived in relatively good condition.
