The Historical Museum of Vorizia "Spilios" is located at the village Vorizia of Heraklion prefecture and is hosted in a cave (spilios) above the village. The cave, until the foundation of the museum, was used for cheese production.
The museum was inaugurated on August 16, 2014. It houses objects from the Second World War, from which visitors can obtain information about the past of the region, particularly the destructive passing of the Germans from the region and the battles with the Greek guerrillas (e.g. at Trahili position).
Among the exhibits, you can see machinery and items used in the fields, and many objects from the Second World War. The Germans in the 2nd World War burned down the village, but never paid for their atrocities against the local population.
