About one kilometer to the south of Korfos beach and settlement, at Gavdos island, there is the very quiet pebble beach with amazing seabed, Lakoudi. The beach can be accessed only by walking from Korfos or by boat. In order to access it you follow the trail heading to Tripiti beach and walk in the dense piney forest. Then you will see the trail to Lakoudi beach on the way, running along a small stream at position Limni.
Lakoudi is one of the nicest beaches on the island and surely deserves a visit. The vivid azure and crystal clean sea water comes from the whitish pebbles of the beach. Lakoudi hosts some very interesting geological formations, such as caves, sea fossils on the rocks and some characteristic stripped pebbles with amazing colors. Moreover, you can swim after Lakoudi to the majestic sea caves of Plystres.
