Lakki is located 81km southeast of Chania and 48km southwest of Rethymno city. It’s located close to Fragokastelo, just 2km to the east, near the village Skaloti. A small stream that runs in the Gorge of Sfaggofarago empties to the west of Lakki. The beach is accessed by driving from Skaloti. In Lakki, Laki or Lakkes, as it is named, you will meet several beautiful sandy coves, separated by very small rocky piers.
The area is very quiet and slightly organized. There are few units with rooms and some taverns. If you have a car, you won’t face any problem here, since the busier area of Fragokastelo is located within walking distance. Lakki is suitable for quiet holidays and is ideal for families and children. The sea is crystal clear and has very few visitors. In some coves there are umbrellas, but finding shade with so many tamarisk trees around will not be a problem.
If you have time, you can walk till Skaloti village and admire the beautiful Byzantine church of Prophet Elijah, which was built in 1335.
