Aspri Limni (i.e. White Lake) is one of the most gorgeous beaches in Crete, that almost nobody knows. This is a small secret beach, located 500m west of Chrysoskalitissa monastery and 70km southwest of Chania. Thousands of visitors are attracted by the nearby exotic Elafonissi lagoon, but actually nobody has heard of this magnificent neighboring place.
Voulolimni (i.e. sunk lake) is located 70km southeast of Chania and 500m northwest of Chrysoskalitissa monastery. It is actually a small crater, surrounded by rocks, forming a small salt lake. Voulolimni is not actually a beach, but the rocky "pool" for the residents of Chrysoskalitissa.
Stomio is located 74km south of Chania and 1km north of Chrisoskalitissa village., in the wider area of Elafonissi. It is not popular to the visitors of the area, because it is rocky and usually wavy. The beach has large pebbles and some places with sand. It is a good choice for anybody that wants to stay remote. Note that the water here is very cool and quite deep.
Livadia coves are located near the village of Livadia, 72km southwest of Chania and 31km south of Kissamos. The coves are not popular to the visitors of the area, because they seem very rocky, as most beaches in west crete. They are mainly prefered by the residents and visitors of Livadia village and those who want to stay remote.
The beach at Keramoti is located next to the homonym village and is located 75km southwest of Chania and 36km south of Kissamos. It is a large and pebbly unorganised beach with rocks in places, quite unknown to everybody, except the locals.
The island of Imeri Gramvousa is located 20km northwest of Kissamos, opposite the imposing Cape of Gramvousa and 2 miles northwest of the famous lagoon of Balos. Gramvousa is famous for its historical Venetian fortress, which still stands at a height of 137m, over the beach. The fort had also been used by pirates.
Gylisma (or Kambos beach) is located 69km southwest of Chania and 29km south of Kissamos, close to Kambos village. The beach is also known as Afratolakoi.
Platanakia beach is located 61km southewest of Chania, 31km south of Kissamos and 5km northwest of Kambos village. The beach is shaped in the exit of the beautiful gorge of Kambos, starting from the homonym village.
Sfinari beach is located 60km west of Chania and 30km south of Kissamos, in front of the homonym village. The village is built at the exit of a lush deep valley and is surrounded by beautiful towering mountains.
The secluded beach of Kokkina Grema (i.e. Red Cliffs) is located 55km west of Chania, 28km southwest of Kissamos and 3km west of Platanos village. The beach is named after the huge reddish peninsula at its north end.
The beach of Kalyviani is located 1km north of the homonym traditional village and 7km northwest of Kissamos, near the Peninsula of Gramvousa. It is a perfect choice for the visitors of the picturesque village of Kaliviani.
The beach starts from the church “Madonna of the Harbor”, near the port of Kissamos, and extends along a 2km shore with coves, up to Kaliviani. Vigglia has coarse sand and crystal clear waters. In some parts, the sand is interrupted by a few pebbles and rocks.
The beach of Damialis is located 1.5km north of Kissamos town and 37km west of Chania. It is situated just off the main road linking Kissamos with Platanos, thus access is very easy.
Mavros Molos (i.e. black jetty) beach is located just in front of Kissamos town, 36km west of Chania. Mavros Molos is a long gulf, on which remains of the ancient port of Kissamos have been found.
The beach of Telonio (i..e Customs Office) starts east of the main pedestrian road of Kissamos and extends to the local stadium, about 1km eastern. Actually it is the westernmost part of the vast beach that starts from Kissamos and ends in Nopigia, several kilometers eastern.
The beach of Livadia starts 1km east of Kissamos, next to the town stadium, and ends at the beach of Korfalonas. It is a small, 2km long, part of the vast beach that runs from Kissamos and ends in the Cape Rodopos.
Korfalonas is a nice sandy beach with shallow waters located in the central part of the vast beach that runs from Kissamos to Cape Rodopos. There are a few amenities near the beach, with umbrellas, showers, taverns and hotels included.
The beach of Drapanias is located 5km east of Kissamos and 32km west of Chania, between Korfalonas and the Nopigia. It is named after the homonym village, situated 1km south of the beach. It's east part is also called Kokkino Metohi.
The seaside village of Nopigia is located 6km east of Kissamos and 30km west of Chania. It is built on the east side of the Kissamos Bay, next to the basis of Rodopos Cape and after the east end of Drapanias beach.
