Selinara Falls
Just a few meters before reaching the small village of Orne at the province of Agios Vasilios in South Rethymno prefecture we meet the imposing waterfalls of Selinara. It is actually a river of alternating waterfalls, not just one, on the south slopes of the mount Kedros.
The falls of Selinara have water in winter months and till the late spring and is easily discernible from the road that reaches Orne. The area hosts more waterfalls as there are many springs around in high altitudes and the rivers formed meet the fault of Kedros.
Reaching the waterfalls of Selinara is exhaustive as it requires ascending the steep slopes of Kedros. If we however try that, we’ll reach the 20m high waterfall in a rocky area with amazing views to the valley of Orne.
