Psilos Volakas beach

The coves of Paleochora are a series of peaceful continuous coves, with wonderful water and a fantastic sea. Next to all the beaches passes the main road that connects Paleochora with Krios beach in Koundoura. On the side of the road, there is a comfortable sidewalk, which starts from the beautiful town.

Psilos Volakas is the most popular of the nearby beaches that you will find in the west, after the small Kalamia beach, about 1.5km west of Paleochora. It is named after the large rock (volakas) that is located at the end of the beach and protects it from the southern winds. The most daring often jump from this rock.

The beach has fine pebbles, while some rocks provide shade, as well as a few tamarisk trees. It has basic infrastructure, such as showers, sunbeds, and a small canteen. The rocky seabed behind the big rock is great for snorkeling.
